• Critical Thinking in the Classroom - This is a booklet and lesson plans. As you would expect, it makes several references to Microsoft products, but it is still a very useful resource.

Media Literacy

• Media Awareness Network - Extensive media and internet lesson plans for all grades. The Media Awareness Network is a Canadian non-profit organization for the promotion of media literacy.
• Framework for 21st Century Learning - Curriculum and lesson plans to prepare students for the 21st century. This site is by AASL, educational foundations, and several corporations.
• The 21st First Century Information Fluency Project - The site covers such aspects of the internet as plagarism and effective searching. It also has lesson plans. By the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy.
• Teaching Media Literacy - Links to sites with media literacy lesson plans.
• Media Studies Lesson Plans from the New York Times - These are suitable for middle and high school students.

Using Primary Sources - Document-Based Questions

• The Library of Congress - There are primary source sets for American history. You may also design your own professional development in teaching with primary sources.
• Document-Based Questions - New York State DBQ Courses
• The Digital Classroom - Lesson plans using primary sources on the Internet by the National Archives and Records Administration.
• The American Memory Collection - Lesson plans using primary sources may be reached from The Learning Page.
• Presidential Libraries - Libraries for the presidents starting with Franklin Roosevelt. Many have links to digital and biographical materials.

• Landmarks for Schools - This site has a wealth of links to raw data on the net. It will be very useful when you are planning internet research assignments with classroom teachers.
