Building a Spanish Language Collection

• Barahona Center for the Study of Books in Spanish for Children and Adolescents - This site has recommended books in Spanish and recommeneded books in English about Latinos.
• Criticas - Review journal for children's and adult Spanish language books. The web site has an archive of articles.
• Criteria for Evaluating Multicultural Literature - by Denise E. Agosto, professor at Drexel University.
• The Pura Belpre Award - Award for outstanding children's books by a Latino/Latina author. This is given by the ALSC.
• Américas Book Award for Children's and Young Adult Literature - Given for a book in either English or Spanish which engagingly protrays life in Latin America or in the US.
